Only I can say is I doubt Kings go for a D-man....They have plenty already....need scoring...wouldnt be surprised if they trade #5 for a scorer if they dont get the pick they want....

I think lombardi will want Kane. If he can't get it, he will trade the pick + other stuff to ATL for Kovie.

I do but I can't see Colorado moving down. I would LOVELOVELOVELOVELOVELOVELOVE to have duchene as a king but I'm being realistic and saying we won't get him

Hmm...I have a deep love for JMFJ but I would give him up to get Duchene. If we could do JMFJ and maybe a 2nd rounder for 3 overall, I'd say do it. Then get Duchene, and wheel 5 to atlanta for Kovie

I guess I should clarify. I am thinking that the first round this year will be one of the most exciting in recent memory, ON DRAFT DAY. Certainly no draft can really be judged until the bulk of those drafted have retired years later.

What I am seeing here though, is several HUGE decisions that can completely alter the course of the draft on draft day, including several possible monster trades, at the draft.

If we see Schenn traded to Tampa, Tavares traded to Toronto, Lecavalier traded to Montreal, LA, or somewhere else altogether, all on draft day, then that would be, in my opinion, the most exciting draft in a while.

    Just my opinion.

That cool it your opinion and glad ya clarified. I was just stating each draft has it own unique suspense.

I was just saying in most years there is a clear cut #1 pick whereas this year the first 5 spots could go in any order.....Tavares was rated #1 for so long but Duchene is expected to be a All-round player who is ready for the NHL right now - Hedman is not a clear #2 either - just saying its going to interesting (for picks, not so much trades - although I think there will be some big movements this year)

I still think the clear pick is John Tavares but that just me. I don't know why it would be any other way. I mean when you look at what he done for years not just a short period of WJC, Combine, etc. Not to say it means he should go number one but I think he will. All it takes is that one GM to get sold on anyone to mix everything up and that starts from the top.

p.s. What big movement are you willing to go on record with if any?

Not sure but I feel that a high profile player will change teams in this draft....We have seen trades but when was the last time an elite player was traded?

I have seen names like Heatley, Kovalchuk, Lecavalier, Pronger, Richards (Dal) and even heard Malkin (which I doubt) in rumors....
