That's all good for the Hawks in my opinion. Campbell is good, but if they get Heatley back, and then don't sign Havlat, maybe they can chase J-Bo. To me that's two upgrades.

The Hawks played near the cap all year, so trading Campbell for Heatly is a pretty much a wash. The money they save by letting Havlet and Khabibulin go will go towards resigning Bolland, Versteeg, Barker, Eager, Brouwer and Pahlsson this year. Next year you have Toews, Kane and Keith all becoming free agents.

As cool as that would be to try and sign J-Bo I don't think it will happen. I can see them maybe going after a Scuderi type D-man.

I don't see this happening, Chicago won't be able to put up as good a deal as teams such as LA, Edmonton, and Calgary. Plus I don't see them chasing Heatley with Toews/Kane needing to be signed long term.
