The skyline is slick and I really like the way you handled the text. Love the streaking colors like a long exposure shot of a car driving by at night. A signature would have to be done in silver to work, though.
The map idea is sweet as well. You have a nice opportunity for a good signature area with that design. What if you dropped the text a little lower on the card to free up signature space? Maybe a light color overlay over the map to give it a bit more pop?
Looking at the skyline card again, I really like the text effect. One of the cooler effects I've seen in a while. You've got skills, dude.

I was thinking about the text on the map one and I'm probably going to move it to the bottom. Adding color to the map is another good idea. I'll have to try that. A nice light tint in a team color would probably look good.
I'll mess around with the skyline one too. The text is my favorite part of it but I feel like the rest of it is missing something. Once I tweak it, I may use that design for some 8x10s since its probably not as pratical for autographs.
Thanks for the compliments and tips! I've only been working on these for a few weeks but it was seeing your designs that got me started.

Here it is with the text moved down:

(Keeping this change)
And with a tint:

In some colors it looks better than others. I'm not crazy about this one. I couldn't get the shade I wanted (maybe its time to invest in photoshop?) but other tints looked good. Let me know what you guys think. I would change the colors of the outlines to correspond if I did go with the colored backgrounds.
EDIT: I had a couple sets of my tickets printed today and picked them up. They look good. The mail was late today so I cut them and sent out my first request to Martin Prado. We'll see how they turn out signed. I hope he signs because he has been on fire the past few weeks.Last edited by Aharvey; 07-13-2009 at 02:48 PM.

I hope you aren't ticked that I'm going to have to incorporate that streaking text effect into my next card. Too cool looking to pass up.

No photoshop? What program are you using?? You doing a great job. I must admit I like the colour tint added to the map. You really have unique ideas for your customs keeping them coming.

No problem. I just duplicated the text layer and added a motion blur to the bottom one, then added some outline. Simple, but I like it.
I'm not familiar w/ the magic extractor but I assume its like the magic wand on my program. If so, I dont use that. I just go in with an eraser and make the cut. The Diaz one took forever but I had a really nice, large photo which helped. Thats the key. I hate making cuts so occasianally I'll try to find some on the web. Not having Photoshop makes it difficult though becuase a lot are psd's. The customs look good-simple and clean.

Thanks Bondsaway! I think I'll stick with the neutral colored backgrounds.

Question: Team colors outline (like Scherzer sample) or neutral outline (like Diaz sample)?

Any other suggestions before I finalize a design?
Thanks!
