Got On An Auto Pulling Spree

Two days ago my 7 year old and I stopped by a card shop while my wife shopped at JC Pennys. I bought a cheap Timmons card for my PC and grabbed 2 packs of 09 Classics as an afterthought. While I talked to the shop owner I busted the packs. The first pack was a dud. The second had a Clay Matthews Significant Signatures Gold /250 autograph. Not bad.

Yesterday my 7 year old and I are in WalMart and we stop by the blaster box section. I decide to get a blaster of Classics since I had some luck the day before and my 7 year old asked if he can get some packs. I say he can and he grabs two loose packs of Score.

We get home and sit down to bust our packs. As I am opening the wrapping on the box he pulls open his first pack and says "Hey dad, check this out" I look up to see him holding a Greg Lewis Inscriptions auto. Not only is it wild that he snagged an auto from 2 loose packs of Score, it is also the first auto he has ever pulled. A few minutes later as I am busting my 8 packs of Classics I pull a Graham Harrell auto RC /999.

Now I realize that these are not amazing hits and BV is nothing special, but I thought the fact that we hit 3 autos in 12 packs was pretty cool and worth mentioning.

Duane - What would've been more exciting for you - pulling a PC auto from your blaster or seeing your son pull his first auto?

I figured you would say that.
I can't wait to have a son so that I can share my love of collecting with him.
