Rant about Jim Carrey
So, my mom was in Georgia at the Paula Deen store for a book signing. A little girl in front of her was there to meet her, she was with the Make-a-Wish Foundation and her with was to meet Paula Deen.
Well the little girl had a friend with her who was also terminal, a little boy. His wish was to meet Jim Carrey (I'm thinking, so why is he at the Paula Deen store?). Mom was talking with them and they explained that Jim Carrey had declined the offer to let the kid meet up with him for a few hours or whatever it is they do. I couldnt believe it. How can someone deny a dying boy's wish, all it takes is a few hours. Its not like he had to fly somewhere or anything, the foundation does all the work and all you donate is time and a smile. Wow, how hard is that. What a tool.
So the little boy gets like 4 or 5 wishes to make up FOR BEING DECLINED HIS WISH BEFORE HE PASSES AWAY! (unless a miracle happens)
EDIT: And no I dont have a "link", my mom just got back yesterday and told me the story or what the Foundation people said.

people are busy..tbh get over it, a lot of people die every day. Celebrities can't meet everyone who wants to see them.

Celebrities decline things like this all the time. We just don't hear about it.
Where are the threads for all of the other big-time celebrities who deny these kids' "wishes?"

Well, you can't help them all. On a side note of good news. Me and a group of about 40 of my friends went to Orlando for 2 weeks and for 3 of those days we did this thing called give kids the world. We practically went to the place all day and built things and served food for the kids, or just played with them. It's this organization to help out the dying kids and their families. We built a horse track so kids who can't walk can get on a horse and feel how it is to walk. It involved a lot of hard work like moving tons of dirt and rocks, but there was nothing more satisfying than the smiles on the kids faces.

Yeah, I can't really fault him without knowing the whole situation...who knows, he may have met with 10 dying kids just yesterday. But on the surface it does sound pretty bad....I haven't heard too much about Jim Carrey and how he is with fans, so it may be par for the course.

Wow I can't believe someone actually wanted to meet him! Since I don't know the whole story I will leave it at that.

Alot of people wish to meet Jim Carrey before they pass away, if he had to meet all of them then there wouldn't be anytime for him to live and go to work

Yes, very true. But not all those people are young little 10-year olds that have been suffering from an illness while most other 10-year olds are playing sports and collecting cards, and will more than likely get to live full lives, maybe even get famous and make a lot of money. Its a different scenario.
Yes, maybe he was busy. But this kid had around 6 months, he cant find half a day in the next 6 months? If it had to be ONE SPECIFIC day, it'd be different, i'd understand.
I dont expect everyone to get "their wish", but young children who werent as fortunate as us should get SOMETHING. But.....the kid in my story actually made out better in the end. So good job Make A Wish Foundation.
