Early Reports on Exquisite?
Anyone got any opinions on how the new Exquisite is ? Lets take into consideration everything here i.e prob being their last year? compared to black or last years exquisite? Keeping in mind this years rookies are much better than last year.
I've been seeing 40-60. 40 % good breaks and 60 % bad
What do u think?

About 80% of the breaks I have seen I would be happy with.

If I had to choose I'd go with two boxes of black and a 100 dollar box like hardwood over a box of this, just my opinion. Or if we are talking case I would rather have 6 boxes of black and a hardwood over this as well. I don't really like breaking boxes like that in the first place though so whatever

As long as you dont get a 1/1 Plate your good! Cuz i heard if you get one thats the only hit you get, the rest are base and parallels. thanx :)

Yeah, this is the only box I would be unhappy with. I saw Chris on youtube break 2 boxes and they were brutal. But everything else seems to be great, the MJ/LBJ/Kobe cards seem to be falling pretty often. I might pick up a box after it drops to $550 or $500.

The biggest problem is that you're almost guaranteed not to make your money back unless you get a case hit.

I totally agree with Eferna. about 40/60 good/bad boxes.

If you were guarenteed to make your money back on every case then the cards would stop selling cause they wouldn't be rare anymore or I would buy a thousand cases and be a couple 100 K richer

From what I seen, I think it's a really great product to bust. The thing that really stands out to me are the patch cards. Last year, people complained about the single color patch cards, this year, Upper Deck really stepped up there game, and produced a real quality product, i really don't see a bad patch card too often.
Also, I like the fact that Upper Deck balanced out the quality of cards you'll get between a case hit box and a regular box. In a regular box, you may not get a case hit, but it does seem you’ll get some really sick looking cards, maybe not the players you'll be looking for, and i doubt you'll make your money back, but I think you'll be happy overall.
As for the case hit boxes, from the ones I've seen, it's mainly a Jordan/Kobe/Lebron or Derrick Rose Autos. So if you are lucky enough to get a case hit box, you will not be disappointed. The only problem with case hit boxes I’ve seen, is that the rest of the cards are flat out worthless, I mean I think you'll be lucky if you pull another hit, because the rest of the cards are usually base. But, because of this, these boxes balance itself out with the other regular boxes.
Overall, if I had to give Exquisite a letter grade, I would give them an: A
(If i had the money, i will definitely buy me a case of this)Last edited by jeebus86; 08-15-2009 at 12:13 PM.

ok so you give them an A based on the cards, but its a high quality product you should get good card right? There are other products out there that does have some good cards as well like Ultimate (06/07 or 07/08)
But if someone is spending 1800 on a case and get a case hit worth maybe $500-$600 and the rest of the cards worth not more than $100. He has just thrown away $1000
I know that you cannot make you money back on every box, but atleast you can get 1/2 of what you paid for and the other 1/2 UD can keep!!! Its more like UD is keeping 2/3 of it.
