    What if....

My friends and I were talking about this a few days ago. What if Lebron James had decided to play football instead of Basketball? How do you guys think he would have done? He was one of the best WR in all of high school football but would he have been good? Certainly it was the right choice to go play basketball.....or was it?

For one, I don't think he ever played college football, considering he was drafted by the NBA straight out of highschool

But no, I think he made the right choice...he probably would not have been the best/2nd best player in the NFL...and being 6'8" would've probably hurt him more than helped him in the NFL...we'll never know, but I think he made the correct decision.

On a side note, Joe Mauer, the Minnesota Twins catcher, made a verbal commitment to a college in Florida to be their QB prior to being drafted by the Twins...I think he definitely made the right decision to play baseball instead of football (anyone who watches any baseball will know what I'm talking about).

Well, I was reading Sports Illustrated and I think the USC coach was saying that Lebron could have made it to college football because of his strength and hops.

it wasnt just any college in florida...it was Florida State, he was Gatorade National Player of the Year in both football and baseball

I thought it was FSU, but I wasn't 100% sure, and didn't want to appear unintelligent, considering I'm a fan, by posting something that was possibly inaccurate.

To the OP, he didn't play CFB...

He was a high ranked WR in HS though, and considering his 6-8 260 frame I'm sure he would of converted to TE in CFB and/or the NFL.

Lebron was one of the best High School receivers in the whole state of Ohio when he was a sophomore, and Ohio is one of the best football states in the country, especially when it comes to receivers. If he stuck with football, I think he could have been a starter on an NFL team, but he certainly wouldn't have been a superstar in the NFL.

I'm glad he stuck with basketball. I really enjoy watching him play. He might have been successful. Two sport athletes aren't exactly unheard of. The first two that come to my mind are Bo Jackson and Deion Sanders.

    FSU is Florida State

And I doubt Lebron would have done good if he had chosen to play football. Basketball was where he was "destined" to be lol
