That makes no sense...(Topic based off Dallas video screen)

I was listening to a sports radio station today for a few minutes and they had a great topic...unfortunately I couldn't spend a lot of time listening because it was really entertaining. They were talking about things in sports that when you really sit down and thinking about them, make absolutely no sense at all.

    Some examples

-Hanging a video screen over a football field (dallas cowboys stadium).

-Putting a flag pole and a hill in centerfield at Minute Maid Park (houston astros stadium).

-The 2 minute warning in football, what other sport has a stoppage to infom the teams their is little time left.

-Why if a team going in for a score in football fumbles the ball out of bounds in the endzone is it a turnover and the other team gets it on the 20? If it goes out of bounds anywhere else the team who had possession gets the ball where it went out.

-In baseball the records for strikeouts by one pitcher in a single inning is 4. Why is it that if a third strike is dropped by the catcher the runner can run to 1st? They struck out...therefore shouldn't they be out?

Let's hear some of your things in sports that don't make sense.

SEC schools who fire one of the best football coaches they've ever had, then proceed to go out and hire a goober who is 5-19 as a head coach. Additionally, said goober is on a 10 game losing streak.

Why the football has to cross the goal line when a player has 2 feet in the end zone already...referring to the Holmes catch against the Ravens last year. If the player already established both of his feet in the end zone and then catches the ball, shouldn't it be a TD???

I was thinking the same thing just the other day....why in the world would they put a video screen above a football field? why even take the risk of the ball hitting it? makes no sense to me.

As for the baseball, that might just be the old rule thats been around for ever and no one wants to change, just like no replys until last year. just keeps the game going somewhat

I would actually say the exact opposite. In college, you get the ball in field goal range...that's ridiculous to me. If you can't drive the field for a score, you shouldn't have basically a gimme for some points. I despise college footballs OT rules.

Rookies who are guaranteed tens of millions of dollars before setting foot on an NFL field, while veteran players are paid much less.
If it worked like that at every job I've had, I'd be retired already!
