    Rangers interested in Kessel

According to the New York Post, the Rangers are among the teams interested in acquiring Boston Bruins restricted free agent Phil Kessel.

However, the paper notes that trade talks between the Bruins and other teams are starting to pick up steam.

Kessel is believed to be asking for an annual salary in the $5 million range, a figure the Bruins cannot fit under the $56.8 million salary cap

Would be interesting to see where he ends up as he definitely could help a few teams.

I have heard through other fans that the reason he's not signed is that he is still recovering from off-season surgery. Meaning that if/or when he gets signed that he will end up on long term IR. That way the Bruins will have more time to figure out how to get under the cap. I don't think he's going anywhere, and just quietly recovering. You don't hear any news on him, and that's odd considering he's he B's biggest contract right now. Well done Bruins for keeping this all low key. I guess it helps when the Red Sox are playing, and the Pats are getting ready to play.

It is mighty strange that he's been sitting available for this long into the summer. Great young talent, he certainly did his share of burning the Habs last year.

so that's why the Rangers haven't signed Dubinsky or Betts yet.

You never know. The Rangers have 7.7 and change in cap space, so there's lots of potential there.
