    My thoughts on BLASTERS..

I'm not really quite sure why anyone would be Blasters/Retail packs.. The odds are totally against you.

Simple math shows 5 Blasters @ 9.97 is around $50 or so after taxes. Even with 5 blasters you might not even get your "hit" Odds of an auto is like 1:1200 etc.. Even with your guarenteed GU JSY, the BV on those are avg $6. Nothing special at all.

Ordering a box like 07-08 UD Artificats @ $39.95 would make so much more sense..

One autographed card, Memorabilia card or numbered card in every pack! 100 card base set with rookies #ed to 1299 and 699. Legendary Legacies #ed to 999. Parallels of each include Gold #ed to 100, Red #ed to 50, Blue #ed to 25, Silver #ed to 10 and Gold Spectrum 1 of 1. Look for Neck emblem and Triple Artifacts memorabilia. Divisional artifacts memorabilia has same parallel numbering as above with patch versions #ed to 35, 5 and 1.

    Am I right?

Yeah, the only reason I could justify buying a blaster would be to complete a base set. I've picked up one or two at Target in the past, but realized I was just throwing money away. With hobby, you're still throwing your money away, but at least your lottery odds are exponentially better at a major hit.

it's true, but some people aren't lucky enough to have hobby shops in their areas or some people just don't trust buying stuff or using a credit card online

Actually, blaster odds have gotten increasingly better over the years. You can usually hit a GU or Auto in about every other blaster anymore. I only buy them when I'm bored and the hobby shops are closed for the night, lol.

I buy blasters on occasion and I especially liked the 06 07 ud reserve. I seemed to get very nice hits out of them, I hit a Larry Bird auto, Dwight Howard 4 color patch, 3 lebron gu cards and gold parallels. Those cards all had very nice values so for a blaster that was only 7.97 I did really good and never minded picking those up. I'm actually sad that all wal marts around me ran out of them.

That Bird is a nice hit. I wonder if there is a thread in show and tell showcasing blaster hits. i'm too lazy to search.

I certainly understand what you are saying, but not everyone has $50 to spend on a box at one time - for me, I can put out $10 or $20 at one time - I should just save up and buy 1 hobby box, but I wouldn't be able to bust very often...so, retail gives me the busting ability instead of waiting for awhile to save up for a hobby box.

In the past year I've busted maybe 15-20 blasters and 6 or 8 hobby boxes. I have yet to pull anything of any value. I've pulled a few halfway decent cards out of both hobby and retail, but nothing yet to get excited about. So in my eyes, blaster boxes are a better value. (I know thats not really the case, but in my brief experiences it has been) Not gonna stop me from picking up a box or three when I hit up a card show, but it justifies my heading to Wal-Mart at 2am to bust something and relieve some stress.
