CHIT-CHAT FF: Week 2 Wrap Up

Posted a new poll on the league site.

Some players came back to earth in Week 2, while a few others took off. Big game players dominated the scene again, resulting in a lot of blowouts...again.

    Recap of the Match ups

Novacaine @ TRUCKER EFFECT!! - Novacaine's players drank too much the night before their game and Trucker Effect's players ate three bowls of Wheaties before theirs. And Chris Johnson took 3 hits of speed. The Truckers hand Novacaine the Loss of the Week award and the commish is still looking for his first win. Luckily (hopefully), Ric Flair is waiting to give it to him this week. Novacaine also takes home a share of the Worst Start of the Week trophy for Josh Morgan posting 0 points.

The Pope's Pillagers @ RI The 11 Dwarves - The closest game of the week resulted in the Pope joining Novacaine in the 0-2 hole. If he had started his bench, he would have won easily (118 points...won the Pope the Bench of the Week trophy at least)...or if he had just started Philip Rivers instead of Jason Campbell. Really? Campbell over Rivers?

Stratusfaction @ PABS!!! - Tony Romo came back down to earth, but Andre Johnson and Dallas Clark more than picked up the slack, posting 20+ points each and leading LA to a 2-0 start. Greg Jennings of the PABS!!! joins Josh Morgan on the Worst Start of the Week trophy.

Blunts @ Hellbillies - A lot of trash talking before this game (basically because Red never shuts up), but the Blunts backed up their claims 100%. The Hellbillies skill players all post solid days, but it's not enough to overcome Frank Gore's 200+ yard day and Carson Palmer returning to his old form. Blunts move to 1-1 and the Hellbillies, one of the pre-season favorites, drops to 0-2.

Victors @ Ric Flair's Back - Probably the most boring game of the week...a whole lot of mediocre. The Victors move to 2-0 behind Matt Ryan's first 3 TD game of his career and That Thing drops to 0-2.

Ramrod @ 'Horns - Ronnie Brown doesn't get much help from his Ramrod teammates w/the Vikings D/ST being the 2nd highest scorer on the team. The 'Horns get solid play all around to take the week, both teams moving to 1-1.

    __________________________________________________ _______

I decided to start up a Chit-Chat Fantasy Football league this year...because obviously we need something else to talk trash about around here.

I hand picked the owners based on frequency of posts in Chit-Chat, quality of posts/threads, how long they've been hanging around in here, length of membership, and just generally looking for all around good Chit-Chat members (aka "patsies"). Basically, I wanted to reward our good members with a fun little extra. I know what you're thinking...reward them with a beatdown in Fantasy Football? And I see the point, but at least they'll have a little bit of fun while I'm racking up the wins and taking home the trophy.

If you weren't picked, please don't take offense, I mean nothing by it. These are just the first people that pop into my head when I think good Chit-Chat posters.

So this thread is to be used for all the best parts of Fantasy Football...the trash talking, bragging, humiliation, ritualistic hazing, etc. I'll also try to keep it up to date with all the league info (ie draft time, draft results, current team rosters, transactions, standings, etc.).

And although I realize it's very possible, even likely, that everyone else really couldn't care less about this, I'm hoping that other Chit-Chat members will pop in to cheer on their favorite team, dog the rest, and basically just join in on the fun.

explain to me again why you get a trophy for highest bench scoring, but not for highest scoring? I should get the trophy, and pope's should get a trashcan

Eh...highest scoring is just boring. Another thing you didn't suggest when I asked for input

fair enough...i just want a trophy...and i would've got one for gore if not for chris johnson...maybe i'll just bench my best players next week and grab that one....but i guess i'll just have to settle for the trophy that comes with the league championship

that campbell for rivers switch was awesome...i heard matthew berry on espn sunday morning talking up campbell & garrard this week...since this season is all about me teaching everybody else, here goes another free lesson....if matthew berry says to start somebody, then you sit him...if he says to sit them, then you start them...do the opposite of what he says and you'll have a great season

I thought Campbell would be decent this week, but no way am I starting him over one of the most prolific passers in the league! I did make a similar bonehead move though, to take some of the heat off spoodini...I figured JaMarcus Russell should have a decent game against KC and I've never been high on Roethlisberger fantasy-wise, so I sat Ben and started JaMarcus. And sure enough, cost me the game. If I'd started Ben, I would have won by 6...as it was, I lost by 6. But, I will point out in my defense, Big Ben is not nearly the fantasy stud Rivers is.

JeRmZ...only thing I'm going to cry over is when I have to make a tombstone for you like I did Ash

i'll pass on that one....how about a trophy for the owner who busts the most chops...the one who talks more trash than a little bit...the one who has delusions of grandeur....wait a minute, that last one wasn't good.....ahh, nevermind

I absolutely love reading comments you write about your mancrushes....Philip Rivers has one great season and now he's "one of the most prolific passers in the league"....haha....must be that incredible Vincent Jackson he throws to...HAHAHAHA

and yes, the only time Rivers is better than Big Ben is in a fantasy game...cuz in real life, Ben owns him

Who's the #1 fantasy WR right now? And Rivers isn't one of the most prolific passers in the league? He was 5th in passing yards and tied for 1st in TDs last year and is leading the league in passing yards this year...what's not prolific?
