Legal driving age
I've been thinking about the legal driving age, and it confuses me. What makes a 16 year old capable of driving?
My friend is a professional dragtruck racer for Dr. Performance and has set the world record for the fastest 1/4 in a diesel dragster. He has also been racing since he was about 10. At age 14 he was driving cars at more than 100mph. Do you think he could drive a normal vehicle on a normal road then? I think so
Also. When I was 10 I was driving tractors, loaders, and trucks around the dairy (even to my friends house 4 miles away to my friends house in phoenix, but shhhh haha). At 13 I drove a 18-wheeler around the dairy. Do you think I was able to drive a regular vehicle on a regular road? I think so.
Now, we have 20 year olds, 30 year olds, 40 year olds, and so on, that dont even know what a blinker is. We have these people who dont know how to yield. Today, I was almost hit by some idiot going 70 mph who wanted to pass someone, BUT forgot to look at on coming traffic (me). Thank God I was paying attention and swerved to miss her, or else I probably wouldnt be typing this right now.
I think there doesnt need to be a driving AGE, there needs to be a driving TEST. No matter how old or young, you should be able to go take the driving test to get your license. And not just a written test, an actual driving test. If you cant pass, there can be a school that you can go to on saturdays you can learn how to properly operate a vehicle. They can go every saturday for 3 months and then go attempt to pass the test again. If you pass, you get your license. If not, well you take the class again. The state can put on the school, and the money can go to the state. It could get the state money, while keeping good drivers safe from idiots who have no common sense and get operate a vehicle safely.
Any thoughts?

I would much rather be on the road with a 15 year old that can actually drive, than a 35 year old that cant.
Age means nothing. Maturity and common sense does.

10 year olds aren't mature,
My sister is 12 and she isn't close to being able to drive, they don't even have sense of direction.

You must have not read the first post.
My sister is 15, 2 months away from being able to drive (legaly), but she is a LONG way from actually being able to drive safely.
Like I said, age is just a number. I dont care how old or young you are, if you can safely drive a vehicle you should be able to. So if you're 35 and cant drive, you shouldnt have a license.
Read the frist post.

Well here in California, you have to pass a driving test, if your 40 and can't drive, then that means you dont have a license

Well i actually did, just because I got my "hardship". But for the "normal" drivers at 16, they just get to drive after having their permit(driving with a parent for a year) and then they get their license automatically.

Yes that's true. My Great Grandmother never drove in her life. She failed twice and then decided it was better that she just not get behind the wheel.
They didnt give her a license even though she was of age
