The auto is either a legitimate autograph or a lithograph, but that is MJ's sig and not a forgery.
Duplicating the fluid dog leg jag on the end of the M is just too hard to do for small money. If you are going to counterfeit a very fluid sig, not like Mantle whose sig is counterfeited more often than any and has 4 pauses in the sig, Jordan's sig has ZERO. Jordan's sig is 1 fluid scrawl.
Read up.
Autos using 1 long line of scrawl are the most difficult to re-represent because it takes an animated motion to re-create it, not an artists eye and the item used appears to have been a felt tip so any pause=blotting.
Seems completely legitimate to me. Now,what they said also is true. With no legitimate COA ( not one you find on the web in stacks of 20 for 4.99) the ability to garner any reasonable amount of cash will be impossible.
With that in mind, CMB . I am interested in it,that is how sure I am it is a cut of MJ's scrawl :)
No interest in the frame or picture, I would choose a much different layout ;)
I have several MJ auto cards, pics, basketballs.
Hell, check my Ebay, I have an MJ auto up now. I know he real from the fake :0
Ebay check Bryce Harper. I nailed 45 listings of fake autos. It's a hobby, but those BH fakes were so obvious :)
Dissecting an auto graph is simple, just takes a few tools and your comp and poofLast edited by CompleteGibberish; 09-25-2009 at 11:07 AM.

So let me get this straight -
Sell it for $50-100 (and you'd be really lucky to get that) - make $50.00 profit
Get it authenticated by PSA for $100 - sell it for $300-400 - make $200-300 profit
Seems to me if you really thought it was real, and really wanted to sell it, you'd do the simple math.
The only reason to not get it authenticated is if you know it is fake or you would never sell it.

Such a typical narrow-minded and myopic POV, no room for anything but what is seen in the tunnel.
Let's see
1.No money to have it authenticated
2.Afraid to find out it may be fake and be out a lot more cash
3.MAY SELL for 200-300 more. Check out how many MJ autos have no bids, mine included which is priced a tad above HALF book. So out a few hundred and collecting dust
4. Fear it MAY BE a lithograph reprint and loose cash. Still a legit autograph, sadly not the original of that legit, just a copy :)

You can remove the auto frome the fram, flip it over onto a piece of glass and shine a light through it.
You are looking for partial bleed to determine if it was an actual auto and not a reprint.
Scan the image and increase the DPI to 500 ad look for digital pixeling to see if it was a digital image

This may be the dumbest thing I've ever read on this site. If you have a Jordan Auto with PSA/DNA Authentication you absolutely have a sellable item for 10 times what you will get for an "auto" scribbled on a piece of paper.
So sell what you think is a real auto for $50 or scrap for $100 and sell a PSA Authentic auto for $300 - that's simple economics. Is that too difficult for you to grasp?
No money to have it authenticated? Then keep it - because it's not worth losing the potential $200 of profit you'd make if you sent it to PSA.
If someone is that hard up for $50.00 then maybe they should re-evaluate being in any sort of sports hobby all together.

Clearly your ignorance of reading comprehension is where the issue lies.Simple English. Is that too difficult for your to grasp ?

Throw word *** after your word, then you know where I stand on your ability to understand simply reading :)

Again, I tossed out more than the single minded scenario you tossed out. I did not say "Would not sell " . I implied simply having it authenticated does not assure a sale.

Exactly what I would do. Except your saying only a tard would not send this auto to PSA. That whole "reading between the lines" thing that seems to be a necessary thing on this forum that goes from trading to hostility in the click of a refresh
If someone is that hard up for $50.00 then maybe they should re-evaluate being in any sort of sports hobby all together.
If you already have something and do only trading, you really only need postage.
You sure have a derogatory,single-minded view on everything, don't you. SO if someone is strapped for cash, they should jsut check out and give up. People with your mind-set are a big reason why we have $200+ packs and the hobby now is skewed towards profit margin more so than collecting to enjoy memories.
Nothing I said about your post I quoted was untrue, out of place or inaccurate. All plain and out in the open.
Feel free to go " Blah blah" some more.Last edited by CompleteGibberish; 09-25-2009 at 11:46 AM.
