I've seen that crackhead math before, probably the same guy....If it is he told me he strictly trades on BV not sales, then he had these formulas to boost every card value he had. Just tell them thanks and good luck with that.

    Already done.

Well in the end it his card he can ask what they want. If you do not like it move on. I seen ridiculous prices and some that are too low. Of course we never complain about those do we LOL.

The important thing is that like the one member mentioned the multiplier should be based on the original card. But hey they can interpret it anyway they want.

I would have voted gouged... if you had bought it. If you don't buy it, then it can't be a gouging. He is trying very hard to gouge you though.

Some people do use that theory to price their cards. But they're not in the majority.

Occasionally though, if someone asks me if I'm willing to sell a PC item, I give a crazy high number. If I bought it for 50$, I would ask around 400$ for it. Only because I want to guarantee that I can replace it somehow. Needless to say that I'm keeping that card and don't make a sale. I'm not interested in selling PC cards though.

Is it possible that this Montoya glove is a PC item? If not, your story reminds me of this guy:
    http://cgi.ebay.com/AL-MONTOYA-06-07...3286.m20.l1116

All his prices are ludicrously high and for the patient customer, you'll definitely find a better deal. Somehow, miraculously, he makes sales though. After all, a customer is born every minute.

In the end, they're his cards. He can sell for as high or as low as he wants. If you really want that card though, I suggest patience. Or your own 4 colour patch to trade with him.

    Cheers,
    reoddai

No doubt it's his card and he can charge whatever he wants........it was his attitude and explanation that p***ed me off.

I kind of wish these buffoons who pull crap like this at least had the intestinal fortitude to show up in a thread like this and at the least defend what they do, instead of just hiding out and trying to rip people off behind the scenes.

I don't think they can handle the criticism, hence why sellers like this rarely respond to emails if you call them out. When they do respond, it's always rude.

The ITG (internet tough guy) never takes on more than he can delete off his screen.

When the whole multiplier thing was new, I pulled a 03/04 Brodeur Pvt Stock Blue parallel (#/25) that was 2c. At the time I didn't know them made all the blues 2c so I took the multipliers and told some one $260 for the card, they offerred me a couple nice wings and I took it. Guy said it was one of his favorite cards as they were so hard to find.

I just want to find the people who are buying from that guy, as I figure I can use his system to sell them my Kurri collection and buy myself a small country to retire to.

well there is a premium for multi colored patches and jerseys, but he's just taking it to the extreme, not every players patch can garner that much mark up. and the last I checked beckett does not have a white patch or one colour patch price guide, and if he is a dealer then he should Know better then all of us YOU NEVER PAY FULL BV!!!!!!!!, man I'd like to sell this guy my 2001 hyundai, 3 colours mauve(fancy grey), grey and rust, buyers guide $1500 well I should get more for the 3 colours.

A valid and reasonable response to his formula would be this:

    You're out of your mind.

    Simple as that...
