Brian Gionta: Habs Captain?
Both RDI and Francois Gagnon of La Presee are reporting today that it is very likely that Brian Gionta will be named the 28th captain of the Montreal Canadiens.
Discuss.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

Gionta does the rest of us 5'6"-5'7" tall males all proud. :-P
On a more serious note, if not Gionta, then who? I'm not 100% familiar with the Habs roster for this season, but really who else would fit the bill? Just out of curiosity. I'm interested in knowing who the Leafs defense will be grinding into hamburger this Thursday. >_>

I'm sure Komisarek will have fun yipping at people as he hides behind the referee...until BGL steps on to the ice.

BGL will then walk into Mr. Orr as he BGL meets the floor.
That rhymed.
It was intentional.

BGL , with his 1.5 M / year salary and his 2 minutes of ice time , won't do anything when Komisarek , Beauchemin , Exelby , Mayers and the others will be on the ice all for more than 10 minutes per game !

Haha...I don't doubt it Richard. He did seem to enjoy hauling Jordan Staal off the ice and pummeling him during a preseason game though. I'm not entirely sold on Komi as a big time fighter. I'll be happy if he just throw big hits, blocks shots, and helps clear bodies from the front of the net.
That's why we signed Colton Orr, and Francois Beauchamin. Well, that's all Orr is good for...at least Franny is a good player besides that. Rosehill has shown he's quite the scrapper too.
And Exelby who is a hitting machine (turnover machine too >_>). Oh...and some little spunky kid named Luke Schenn.
Our team doesn't lack people who like to throw a good hit. This year the one thing I, as a Leafs fan, have to look forward to is plenty of physical play from some of our guys.
But yeah...sorry to get this off topic.

Man, you should have seen the irate people at Habs Inside/Out when Komi decided to be a tough guy with Jordan Staal. People were embarrassed for him.
