Paypal question??? (pendning funds)??? Please help!!!
Hey guys
As some of you may know, I just recently pulled a Blake Griffin auto and have just sold in on ebay today for a pretty substantial amount. On ebay, it shows up as the item being paid for already but when i go on paypal, it says that the funds are pending. I called paypal and they told me that this is going on since there is an agreement between paypal and ebay to try to get better customer satisfaction.
I just feel weird sending out a card of this magnitude without for sure knowing my funds will clear. I feel like the buyer is getting all the protection, while me the seller is taking all the risk...
Has anybody here had to deal with this before???....Please let me know as I'm not feeling to good about sending this card out...

Just don't ship the card until the funds are in your account AND i would transfer it to a checking/savings account if you have one. I wouldn't ship anything until i know the money is in my account.

No don't send the card yet bro. Is is an e-check?
Wait until the funds are in your account and that the payment is completed and not pending!!!

That's what I was thinking, but I called paypal and they told me the only way the funds would clear is if i shipped the card. They told me the funds would clear as soon as the buyer leaves feedback, or 3 days after the item is delivered which would be known by using a tracking number....

That is very interesting then. Why would paypal expect you to ship out something before you receive the funds for it?
I would try contacting ebay about this. Also try and get a better explanation from paypal as to why you have to send first so payment is cleared?
That is definitely a first.

technically the person i guess already payed and the funds are being held by paypal.......i really really don't like how they're doing this.....i don't feel secure about this situation at all

Paypal is totally screwed up as of lately.... I have noticed a few things regarding depositing money from paypal to my bank account . i use to get my cash if i deposited on monday by wed... Now the last 2 deposits first one took 15 days. this one is pushing 14 as of today.... But like the ppl above me has stated DON'T SHIP till your funds show up in your account. I'am a powerseller andi,m debating dropping paypal payments all together. Like you said paypal protects the buyer but screws the seller. Ebay is not much better regarding that matter . Since a buyer can hammer us selllers with negatives if they feel like it. Us poor sellers when those ppl decide not to pay us . We as sellers cant leave them a negative feedback. Just to warn other sellers that they're dead beats.

Ya, I'm just feeling very uncomfortable about sending a $200+ auto in the mail without getting my money for if first.......it just doesn't make sense

If you decide to ship it out .. Ship it with with a tracking number. As long as you have proof of delivery paypal covers you. Now since i,am a canadian the only way i get covered is using xpress post this averages $14. within north amercia. the problem with this is Who wants to pay 14 bucks shipping... if i charge that my sales die .
WHen did the card sell how many days ago..

actually just a couple hours ago.........that's another thing paypal told me though......as long as i use a delivery confirmation they'd clear the funds a few days after delivery
