That sums up your whole argument...you're obviously a genius and everyone else is inferior, including many renowned scientists. As I said, my man, I'm done wasting my time...some people have such a high opinion of themselves they don't hear anyone else.

I think this is a legitamate argument. I do not know for certain that spending all of the money will make a difference based on what we know currently. If you had stated this from the start, I would not have disagreed much.
Just to let you know Mike, your whole premise was that global warming was not real so why spend the money?
If you had stated, "We might not be able to stop the damage already, so why spend the money?," I could see this side of the argument. There is no proven tech to stop the reprecussion. Just clarifying so you do not think I conceded to you.
Fair enough, but from the beginning I have said that Global Warming and Global Cooling are fact. I believe that we go through cooling and warming based on ice ages coming and going and the sun not being a consistent/exact source of heat. I have never disputed this. My problem has always been spending too much money fighting "man-made" global warming. People are getting rich while the data is not there to support the amount of money we are spending/giving to people like Al Gore.
If I was shown data that supported that 1) we are currently warming and 2) the money we are spending would have a real impact then I would likely change my tune. But in today's economy we don't need the government spending trillions, punishing business and reaching into our daily lives to change our life styles.
I just have to add this!
Coldest early October ever in Lincoln
What you may have guessed, Ken Dewey has confirmed.
Oct. 1-11 was the coldest Oct. 1-11 period on record for Lincoln, with records going back 123 years to 1887.
High temperatures over the weekend were usually the highs Lincoln records for early to mid-December, according to Dewey, professor of applied climate science at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Saturday's high temperature at the Lincoln airport was only 38 degrees. The previous record low maximum for the date was 41, set in 1987.
Sunday's high temperature was only 40 degrees. The previous coldest maximum was 47, in 1946.

There are tens of thousands of people that work for organizations (in the UN and in private sector) that have been set up to study and/or prevent humans from causing global warming. If you have read anything about cap and trade there are billions to be made from taxes and selling your surplus carbon offsets.
So, in short there are tens of thousands of people that have jobs ONLY if humans cause global warming, people like Al Gore that make movies, books, etc and government from taxing businesses and individuals for putting out too much carbon form the Cap and Trade laws.

Interesting, I never thought of global warming as an industry. It sounds like it is and therefore would have advocates that would want to keep it in the public eye only for profit. Interesting.

Well OPT you have proved to me that you do not know how to evaluate what good scientific evidence is. If you can not, how can I think others can? I do have a high opinion of myself in science, not business, art, or the law. I will share what I am good at. I thought you would respect this point.
You appear to be confusing confidence with arrogance. I am confident about my stance. Prove me wrong with good evidence and I will applaud you.
