    Is your LCS owner nice?

My local card shop is Ardillo's cards. The old man, Chuck, is one of the nicest men I know. He's 75 years old, and gave me a free blaster box of Rookie Class today! I've been going in there for a while, and spend hours in there! It's a small store, but awesome. Him and my grandpa are the same age, so they chat it up while I browse through cards. Super awesome shop.

Only have one local card shop within 50 miles. The owner has us by the jiblets and he knows it. Sell high, buy super low (if ever), searches boxes for hits and puts the rest of the pack out for unsuspecting buyers. . .

also - not much hockey in stock. Although he will order boxes for a 15% premium.

It's pretty much internet, ebay and balsters for me. 'nuff said

    my LCS owner is awesome!

Ive been going there ever since the 04/05 season.

He knows me by name, loves to show me his few box break of every product ( from every sport ), calls me when the new stuff is about to come out .... and even is on the lookout for me for my player collections.

    A great guy all around!

I've got a couple that aren't too far to go to....... but I don't frequent either of them enough to really know the owners well. In both cases, the guys running them are very friendly.... and one of the guys at JJs in Kitchener I always have great luck with, when he picks packs or boxes for me.

My LCS owner is just like yours. He's an older guys, probably in his 70s, and he's as nice as they come. I've been going there since I was a kid and over time he's gotten to know who I am. When I go in there now we spend forever talking not just about cards, but about how our families are doing and everything. The store's small but for the size he carries a huge range of products and is really good about having a lot of hockey products in the store.

The one I go to is about 45 minutes away, but it is a nice shop. The guy there has a great story to tell you all the time and he has just about everything. TONS of supplies. Lots of every sport as well, but a little overpriced, so I just get supplies there, but he's a great guy and it's a great shop.

I've got four to chose from in my city. Two I don't really travel much to because they won't deal. The other two know I have mney to drop, and I'm up on what their costs are, so they can't fool me when it comes to dealing.
If one doesn't get me a box for less the other will. That's how I'm getting my cases of UD 1 and 2 this year. However the other guy I have pulled tons of singles from, and have helped myself and a few people here from his inventory in which he's (somewhat) Liquidating. A good connection to have I'd say.
But with 4 card shops I would have to say there is healthy competition, and helps everyone out. Rule of thumb... Be resourceful.
