I'm thinking very hard about getting a box of this, but have never opened anything nearly this high end. I am going to make an attempt to put together the base card set, but I'm seeing prices of the base on ebay at $10-$15 dlvd of 8th Edition. Are the 5 memorabilia and 5 autos in the box really worth the other $500+ (I'm seeing boxes betwee $575 and $625)?

the base cards may only sell for $10-15 delivered but this year they will all have the manufactured patches and last years didn't. they are more appealing this year and should sell a bit higher and do not forget that the base cards are out of /30, /9 and /1. so technically if you get a box of five packs and the 1/1 comes one every 40 packs you have a one in eight chance at pulling a 1/1 base card. plus if you get a box of five packs you have a better chance to pull a base /9 than not to pull one. you will technically have a one in four shot every pack at pulling the gold version of the base or 1/1 parallel. look at how well the parallels sold for in BBR and it was all the exact same patch. i think that their is big money this year in the base cards.

Thanks for the response. I thought that the base were split into 60 silver base cards that are /90, 15 cards with silver /50, and 15 cards with silver /30, then all 90 have gold /9 and onyx /1. That seems to work out to the 1500 boxes they are advertising. I think it works out to about a parallel per 2 boxes and either a parallel or 'limited' silver in every box.

I am inclined to agree with you, though. What is BBR? I would love to see what historical prices were like.

    Thanks,

    -FB...

there's a whole lotta Lidstrom in there...maybe I'll be lucky enough to get one of the cards from the set. Either way, it's a heck of a set.
