Paypal question
I have been selling a few items on Ebay. Received a paypal payment done with an E-check, normally not a problem. Well today I get a deal through paypal stating the withdrawl date has been changed to Nov. 3rd, I went ahead and cancelled. Would anyone here have done anything different? I was hesitant about dealing with the buyer from the beginning seeing he had 0 feedback and he did not email me prior to bidding like the auction said.

What he said.
Sounds like the payment date was changed due to insufficient funds. Either way, why should you have to wait 2 weeks for payment.

agree with the others, no reason to wait 2 weeks, unless emailed about needing exttra time, which is fine with me as a ebay seller.

Technically you do not have to pay for 2 weeks anyways. On the 8th day you as a seller can file a non paying bidder alert. The ebay gives the seller an additional 7 days to pay.
I would have cancelled too though if you do not mind the fees if it was a high dollar transaction

Thanks for the advice everyone. It was not a high dollar amount and I am willing to eat the fees. The buyer has been in contact this afternoon, I told the that if they pay today I will go ahead and complete the transaction. I am not waiting for another E-Check though

Well first off E-checks are paypals thing not the buyer. Echecks happen when you have your Bank connected to paypal but not a credit card. The buyer send payment and Paypal takes it out of your account. As for the wait time thats paypals mess. I pay with echecks and paypal takes the funds out of my bank the next day. Paypal chooses to sit on it for a week to gain interest on that money. And lately I have had that happen alot. Paypal uses this time in flux as a way to gain funds. I pay money gets taken out and the seller doesn't get their money till the new paypal policies are fufilled. And these policies are "Seller will not get paid till buyer a. recieves item and leaves feedback or b. Buyer receive item and if they don't leave feedback 2 weeks after that. So don't blame the buyer on here blame paypal and their money making schemes. Also you do know by canceling his bid you open yourself up to negative feedback. If he paid and you refused payment then he did his part and you are breaking the contract.

I would have waited, but I've been known to wait a couple of weeks on some items in the past. If the guys is going to send me the payment I could care less if it's 4 days or 14 days. I like to work with my customers and not get too impatient. Sure you run the risk of not getting payment, but you'll be able to recoup all of your selling fees and won't be out the card. Now I don't know your situation as far as if you need the payment qucikly, but for me it's always best to wait if you can. It's good that as a seller you can be flexible. Although the buyer should have either asked before bidding or sent you an email after to let you know if something urgent came up on his end.
