Team Collection Organizing
I'm new to football card collecting but already have about 2000 Dallas Cowboys cards and was wondering how everyone organizes a team collection. I just don't know where to start.

Well 1st welcome to the world of football card collecting.
I collect Dolphins and PSU grads.
Anyhow i put my base and anything booking under 10 in 9 pocket pages and binders. That way i can look at them and add to them anytime i want. I also put any jersey/ auto/ Gu'ed/ Eu'ed/ BV over 10 in top loaders. This keeps the better cards easy to look at and store.
Some of my most favorite cards are displayed on my desk w/ my various other items.
So do what you want that makes you happy. Only you can collect how you want to.

I am a little crazy, and all my low end cards are in soft sleeves and top loaders. Anything #ed/25 or less or BV over $50 are in screw downs. These cards are in 1600 count boxes by year. Basically one box per year up though 2005. 2006 and newer require a few boxes per year.
I also wrote a database where I have each card scanned in, front and back, so I can see what I have by doing a database search of different criteria.

Everything goes into a soft sleeve / top loader or larger case (if neccessary). Then they go in a 1600 count box. I put them in order by year and then set (in alpahabetical order). Im pretty particular about mine. haha

Haha, me too...sorted by year and THEN alphabetically. Anything BV of $8 or more gets the penny sleeve/top loader treatment, and anything less either goes in an album or just a penny sleeve. Screw downs for the high end...

its kinda particular but it makes everything super easy to find if you are going to look for a certain card at any point. I also use excel to keep a spread sheet of my havelist. shoot me a pm if you are interested in doing the same and i can send you an outline and show how i did mine. its pretty easy and really handy!
Good luck either way!
