    How to Tell?

    Hey Gang..

    Perhaps we should start a "How to Tell" thread for hockey cards (or perhaps there already is one and I just haven't found it yet?). I'll start off with:

    1995-96 Bashan Super Stickers
    vs.
    1995-96 Imperial Stickers

    Does anybody know the difference here? I had purchased several packs awhile back and fairly certain the wrapper said Imperial, but the stickers do not say Imperial anywhere on them - but they do say "Super Sticker 96" on the front in the top left corner and copyright 1996 Bashan - Shabtai LTD. on the bottom of the back.

    I actually have no idea. I'm familiar with the set(s) but I didn't realize there was a difference.

    The Beckett OPG has each listed separately with the Bashan Super Stickers priced higher than the Imperial Stickers (for example #117 Doug Gilmour is $1 for the Bashan and only $0.50 for the Imperial)...

    hmmm, you're right. THe prices are almost double (for all of singles) for Bashan than what they're listed for, for the Imperial.

    The other difference on Beckett I noticed is the team checklists. The list (for example) #42 as an "Oilers Team Checklist" on one, and "Ranford TC" on the other.

    Right - but the actual sticker is a team logo at the top with a facsimile signature beneath it - so that doesn't help distinguish between the two sets unfortunately :(

    PS.. Go figure you'd use the Ranford as an example! :p

    Oh, the example was used becuase I have a few copies of that one :) That's how I knew the set.

    I always thought they were the same thing, but two different names. I'm going to have a look, this evening, on my copies.... see if I can spot a difference on any of them.

    I dont really collect hockey, but i like the idea of this thread... maybe even sticky it to the top of the hockey forums! and all other sports forums should have one too...

    I have the same problem now. I cant tell the difference from a Imperial Jagr Sticker #96 and a Bashan. Someone who has found a difference??
