Selfmade "Packs"
I've been seeing alot of these selfmade packs.. Is the sale of Packs allowed here?
If I were to make some self break packs and say PM'd the mods the pack list of which pack contained what. Would that be LEGIT?
Say I email them this list:
Pack 1:
Antwan Jamison 08-09 Hot Prospects AUTO
John Stockton/Deron Williams dual GU 09/10 UD
Mike Dunleavy 08/09 Topps Treasury Bronze
Pack 2:
Brandon Rush Rookie Threads GU/AUTO
Tim Duncan 1/1 Hot Prospects Patch card <--one of the chase cards
Tracy McGrady 08/09 CO-Signers Xfractor /10
Pack 3 (rookie hot pack):
Darrell Arthur 08-09 SP Authentic Patch AUTO
Kobe Bryant Redemption (Send this in for a BGS Graded 9 Kobe Topps Finest RC)
Courtney Lee Bowman Gold RC /50
Then I give the users these choices:
Pack 1
Pack 2
Pack 3
He decides to buy pack 2.. once he then receives the package, he can confirm with the MODS to make sure he got the right cards, because the MOD will have the card list.
Does this make sense at all?
I'd be willing to donate 5% of sales to SCF!

Under rule #1 of the SCF Rules page:
Members cannot trade/sell any of the following:
Grab Bags – These are the lots that will contain a possible chance of certain cards. The exception to this is team lots (lots that only contain usually commons of a particular team) and they can only be sold to cover the cost of shipping.
Packs/Boxes – No selling of packs or boxes of cards is permitted on SCF unless you are a staff member or sponsor. Factory sealed boxes of cards can be traded, but not packs.
So, no, it's not allowed. Sorry!

If you really want to sell them you should try youtube, its a great place to do it. Just an idea, hope it helps.

but the only reason why that rule is in effect is because they're afraid the seller is going to screw the buyer and only giving out crappy cards.
or having the seller "search" through the packs and taking all the hit packs.
In my example, no one is going to get screwed. LOL packs are listed of what is in what pack and sent to an Admin/Mod. Buyer chooses pack 2, he can verify with a Mod/Admin on what is contained in pack to after he opens it.
Also it's not a grab bag, it's a selfmade Pack. Secondly, refer back to the beginning of this post for Rule 2.
Just trying to stir a conversation here at work.

I get your point, but it's just asking for problems...who says that the person who receives the packs aren't going to lie and say that cards weren't in there...then you risk getting an infraction...plus, if we went around the rules for you, that would start a whole new string of people seeing if they could bend the rules into their favor. And, it is pretty much a grab bag if there is a chase card, like you said in your first post. So, no, it wouldn't be allowed.

Well if you didn't have a "chase" or a "hit" card why would anyone purchase the self made packs? why would anyone purchase any packs from UD, Topps, and Pannini if they didn't have the "chase" "hit" card.

Grab Bags = bunch of random cards and you just pick out the cards.
Self Made = picked out cards inserted into packs.
Well you could probably send it to one of the MODS and have him verify the cards include a paid postage stamp bubble mailer, and then have him send it out.
See.. it all works out!
