I'll never learn!
For the past year or so I have been picking up cards at the local WalMart (no hobby stores around). Some blasters, but mostly repacked mix boxes. They sell for around $19 and contain 16 packs plus two game used cards. They have Ultra, Upper Deck, Victory, Rookie Update, Artifacts, OPC, among others. I have gotten some nice hits in the packs including autographs, jerseys, redemptions, and SPs.
The worst part is the two guaranteed game used cards. Not surprisingly, most of the game used come from 05-06 Upper Deck and 06-07 Upper Deck. People opened lots of those packs trying to hit a Crosby or Overchkin rookie. now they have all these low value jersey cards to unload.
Anyway, the funny part is I seem to be getting the same cards over and over. No matter how many times I say I won't buy a box I break down and pick one up. Lo and behold, the jersey cards are duplicates of ones I already have.
It seems I can't get away from these cards:
05-06 UD Jersey Sergei Samsonov - 8 cards
05-06 UD Jersey Tom Poti - 4 cards
06-07 UD Jersey Stanislav Chistov - 11 cards
02-03 UD Difference Makers Jason Allison - 6 cards
There have been a few others in the mix, but most boxes contain (at least) one of the cards listed above. I feel like I'm cornering the market on Chistov jerseys! Nevertheless, I'm sure i will buy more boxes!Hidden Content

Definitly start to buy Hobby on Internet store. Hobby will always give you better result for your money invested.

it's ok, i fell into the trap too, but i got out with only 2 chistov jsy's lol. definitely go to hobby, try to get a box cheap off of ebay, my suggestion would be 08-09 black diamond cause u can get really nice hits for only $50.

Wow by the sounds of this, I sure hope Chistov hasn't found out that his jerseys are going in value packs! Most players would probably find it degrading if most of their jerseys were held back like that.

Yep , i've got 10 Samsonovs and 13 Birons from those boxes ( not to mention 5 Chara sp gu, 5 cloutier mvp materials, 6 -Belfour frozen fabrics....have also hit 4 or 5 of the yzermans.
