Well....yeah...that would pretty much fit the definition of a bigot. One who is strongly partial to one's own group, religion, race, or politics and is intolerant of those who differ

It's all discrimination Mike, no matter how you look at it.
Are you seriously comparing slavery, beating and death to not being able to be married? There is definitely a difference. There is a difference between what Jews and African Americans went through in American history and what gays are going through today.

I didn't compare anything to anything ... all I said was it is discrimination no matter how you look at it. I agree though that what Blacks and Jews went through is a lot different than what gays go through these day's ... although there are cases of beatings and death amongst the gays as well.

What people? Straight homophobic people. What is wrong with passing this bill even if people dont want it. How will it affect these people that voted no.
Why would people vote no? What about the gay people that do want this bill? What are the consequences and emotions involved in each scenario. I do not advocate being gay but I support their right as anyone else. I think it has more to do with religion and homophobia than it is about the people.

I'd be all for it if the dictator wanted everyone in the country to have equal human rights.
The fact is the ones that are against are ones that think that homosexuality is wrong and can't stand it even though it has nothing to do with them. Or ones that want to try and salvage the sanctity of marriage by definition of the bible. That in itself is a complete joke, for most Americans there is no sanctity in marriage. Everyone that marries then gets it annulled in a quick time, everyone that gets in a divorce is doing much more harm than two guys who want to get married. 43% of 1st marriages end in divorce, 60% of 2nd marriages. All of these people should be creating much more of an uproar that what gays and lesbians want to do. There's no through good times and bad, there's no 'til death do us part.
Somehow its absolutely right and accepted in America to go to some place like Vegas, get officially married in 2 hours, think oh that was a bad idea and have it completely wiped clean 3 weeks later, but people are so offended when two people of the same sex who have been together for 6, 10, 15 years and want to make it official like other couples and there is public outcry from religious groups
