You have made a top choice in coming to SCF.
Like Andrea said. If you have any questions PM the Mods, or as what most people on here do is a little research. Especially reading the Sticky's in the Hockey card Trading section of the Forum.
Get accustomed to the environment, and before long you will be a pro.

Always nice to have someone new join in. Consider creating a photobucket to show your traders or show off your personal collection (PC); it'll come in handy when trying to deal with others and show them what you have for trade or what you have already for cards that you collect. Another option is to create a list of at least your better trade cards, to see if you can attract someone who has the cards you need...but a list won't show (for example) the coloring/pattern on a patch/jersey card nor the quality of an autograph. Have fun whatever you do and enjoy!
