Please help educate me on ITG!
So looks like the 08 09 Ultimate memorabilia just came out. Not huge on ITG stuff, am I right in seeing that the base cards are ALL GU patches. Or are they manufactured! And there ALL all star or stanley cup swatches bc ITG does not have NHL licensing, right?

The patches in the base cards are manufactured patches, not game-used. From what I've been told (not 100% positive) they were purchased from the NHL or other licensed partner and would have been the same type of patch used on the actual jerseys. The patch relates to the player in some way, either from an All-Star game the player was a part of or a Stanley Cup patch from a year that player was in the playoffs as examples.
Only the base cards have these manufactured patches, all other inserts contain game-used memorabilia.Last edited by Inferno; 11-11-2009 at 04:19 PM.

Yes the base are MFG'ed patches. ITG did this in last years Superlative releases as well. The Bleu Blanc Et Rouge and the Leafs one as well. They still are nice though. Sure beats a plain old cardboard base card anyday

Manufactured Patch, ala OPC Premier by upper deck.
ITG first ran with this product in Bleu blanc et Rouge:

In the sell sheets, they were calling them "modern base cards" at the time. they've been running with this design on all their high end products ever since:

Although I they dropped the "modern" in the UM 9 release.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,

Some are to 30 and some are to 90 (some 50 also), but they are still bases. The game used ones are mostly to 24.
Heres the base checklist

Almost made the mistake of overpaying for a Tavares base card today (his patch is actually the Isles 25th anniversary patch). Was outbid at the last 5 seconds , whew.
But I was able to pick up a Tavares 3 piece memorabilia (limited to 19) for almost the same price this guy paid for the base card.
I love ITG, great packaging on the cards, and no need to send off to be graded, and no big flaws around the patches, ie : ripped corners.
