Panini Patch Question & etc...
Is it just me or does anyone else feel like these Jumbo Patch autos that Panini is throwing out will eventually end up not being worth that much?
Its like that GU/AUTO issue a few years back when it was hard enough just to get one in a box, yet alone one or two in case. But these Jumbo patch autos, yes, they are autos, but with so many on the market, I feel like the value won't be much after a while....
Another thing is the actual patch cards, 2 color or 3 color patches...it seems like one in every two boxes yields one for Panini...will this drive down the value of patch cards as well??
I am not ranting, just trying to see what other people feel about this issue....
I really do hope they do some on card autos (just like the Old School) with their other upcoming releases as I personally am not a fan of a messy auto on a piece of cloth or a sticker auto...
Another question, I respect legends and I respect that they have done so much for the game, but from Prestige and Rookies and Stars, I feel like there is too many of them, and I don't think its fair to put Cedric Ceballos and Kareem Abdul Jabbar in the same sentence....
anyone else care to chime in?
thanks

I agree with you. I have not seen one of these Jumbo patch autos you speak of though. Any links?
Cedric Ceballos should be considered a "fan favorite" more than a legend imo.
I would like to see more on card autos too. Definitely do not like the auto on a cloth and sticker auto.

Oh I see you mean the manufactured patch autos! Yeah I don't like them too much. Maybe I will get a Bulls one though.. just because it's Bulls!

I agree with you. They just had these team logo patch autos in Prestige and what do I see in Rookie & Stars? The same thing only now they have retired/veteran players team logo patch autos. Like I've seen Rick Barry...Spencer Haywood. It's starting to bore me and keep my distance from buying boxes of Panini. I may just stick with Prestige. I don't know, I thought they did a really nice job with that set. Especially the "Old School" autos, just love that card design. But yeah, I kind of get the feeling that those team logo patch autos will not hold any value. They're kind of like "gimmick" cards. I hope they come up with stuff like Topps Rookie Photoshoot autos. Or a set like Topps/Topps Chrome or Bowman Draft Picks & Stars.
I don't think patch cards will lose value. A patch card is a patch card...a sick 3 or more color patch card will always hold it's value.
Then again, we have to bare in mind that this is Panini's FIRST year of producing cards....

It seems like Donruss Elite does not have that Manufactured Patch....but I saw a guy break a box today and he got damaged cards, he was shorted on cards per pack and got 3 so-so autos and one boring GU card......
Boycotting Panini for now....gonna raid the rest of UD's inventory...
