Going To The Wings/Panthers Game Tomorrow
So I'm taking my fiance (who is has turned into a pretty big Red Wings fan, which isn't good for me), to the game tomorrow night vs. the Florida Panthers.
She has never been to a hockey game and both of us are pretty darn excited! I hope my boy Michael Frolik continues his hot streak and lights it up (although I'm playing against him in fantasy this week, ugh). Also wouldn't mind if Kronwall got me some points.
Hopefully it's a good game w/ the Panthers winning, haha!
l collect Philadelphia Eagles (NO VICK CARDS), Philadelphia Flyers, Philadelphia Phillies, Detroit Pistons, Detroit Tigers.

Well, it was a good game and the final was Florida winning 2-1 in OT. I really thought the Wings were gonna win in blowout fashion, they looked much better than Florida in the first two periods.
I was surprised and a little disappointed not to see Tomas Vokoun in net, but seeing Scott Clemmensen stonewall the Wings was more than enough to make up for it, he played out of his mind!!!! Kudos to him for pretty much keeping the team in the game for the first 2 periods.
Got to see my boy Michael Frolik get an assist on the first goal, which was scored by Stephen Weiss. Nathan Horton had 2 assists and Bryan McCabe had a great one-timer that won it just 40 seconds into OT!
HAHA WINGS!!!! It was great to see them lose, especially in their home arena!

Did you wear your Panther jersey? As for them it regular season game. As long as they make the playoffs then the games truly matter. Glad to see a wings hater finding a partner in love that loves the wing. It should all balance out.
You should go into Greektown, Trapper Alley, and some of the resteraunts and say how you love to see the wings lose. It true bravado to do it in the arena and in a public space instead of a message boards. I don't mind people who root for any team but it amazing how many do take offense to it. When someone get loud and obnoxious about bad mouthing a team it can be disastrous. Seen some classic fights when I been to visiting arenas when wing fans went overboard and vice versa.

I don't have a Panthers jersey, I did wear my Simon Gagne Flyers jersey though. And yea, I'm sure the Wings will make the playoffs. It's definitely funny that my fiance loves the Wings, it does balance out :)
As far as going into Greektown and saying that I hate the Wings and want them to lose, it would be suicidal, I'm a little guy and would get crushed, haha! I like to be respectful anyways because I hate when people rub it in to me.

I was just glad to see Datsyuk get a goal. Clemmensen played very well and the Wings just couldn't get the puck in the net. Wings played a solid game but they didn't finish. I find myself cringing when Osgood is in net. I'm all for Howard right now, give the rookie a shot. Hes getting comfortable and hes playing well. Osgood seems to be losing confidence and as much as I love him for what hes done for Detroit I feel like hes losing his touch. I like to see Howard in net.
Wings are having a slow start, But when we make it to OT I'm content, we got a point last night, and that's important. Win or lose, I'll always be rooting for my home team.

I am sure as a lot of the players and fan spend time after the game hanging out in the past. Not so sure where they all go now as it been years since I been down there in person.
See ya on the boards and best of luck to your Flyer's.
