Nicest Looking Base Product Each Year?

I was wondering what you SCFers considered to be the nicest looking product each year. I dunno what it is...maybe those cardboard backs that make me partial to vintage. Wanted to start a discussion. Starting a project and I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder so I wanted to throw these out there for your approval/disapproval.

09-10 ?? (honestly don't like anything to hit the market yet, maybe OPC for vintage)
08-09 OPC or UD Champs (vintage)
07-08 Ultra (good action shots, clean and simple)
06-07 Artifacts (not a fan of gold but like the look)
    05-06 Parkhurst (classic look)
03-04 Invincible (love these) Topps C55 (vintage)
02-03 Upper Deck (distinctive arrangement, like the bulls-eye)
01-02 Topps Heritage/ Upper Deck Vintage
00-01 Topps Heritage/ Upper Deck Vintage
    99-00 Topps Gold Label
    98-99 ??? Topps?
    97-98 ??? SP Authentic?
    96-97 ???
    95-96 ??? Select?
94-95 ??? Parkhurst Vintage (like these even though it's an insert set)
93-94 Ultra (liked the 90s design)
    92-93 Bowman
    91-92 Bowman/Topps/OPC
    90-91 OPC Premier

Don't like a lot of the later 90s stuff...pretty busy. Would love to hear any suggestions....

For this year it's going to be very difficult to top the ITG Ultimate base cards. Those patches may be manufactured but they really pop. I also really like the UD1 designs.

For 08-09 it was hands-down the Habs Centennial set.

For 07-08 it was Black Diamond. The design, plus the affordable price point and chase aspect of the quads, is what motivated me to collect the set.

Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

Okay... I just finished stuffing my face and I'm kind of suffering from a food coma, so I don't have it in me to go through my favorite base sets since 1990... however I do agree with some of your picks.

The one set I fell in love with last year... was the Upper Deck Masterpieces set. I love the canvas texture and the on card autographs. Have a Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

My alltime favorite card layout (Although I never did collect the set) was the 06/07 Parkhurst......very nostalgic feel to it, but very high end photography and the autos were amazing as well. A very well put together set. I think I might buy a box for myself for Christmas.

Definitely...won a bidding war on the 06-07 PH Hawerchuk AUTO for my HHOF collection. Problem w/these is that for my project I am filling a page for each year with the top 3 forwards, defensemen, and goalies. The Parkhurst set contains only players from earlier eras. Gorgeous set though...

08-09 is the easy pick for me. Its gotta be the Legends of Masterpiece set...

Great feel to the cards, the painting look also makes them #1 in my book.

For 09-10, can't say. Haven't seen them all yet.
