Well, with 2009 almost over, I figured I'd bump this thread back up...I've complete my first two goals by a longshot, but my third one is still not done...I'm needing 80 more KGs to reach 1000 different, but I do have over 50 GU (95, to be exact) and 1 auto...3 weeks left in the year, and unfortunately, I think I will fall short of the 1000 KG goal...

It's not impossible. All it would take is a nice big eBay lot, taking possible duplicates into account. Congrats on accomplishing 2/3'rds of your goals though.
Anyway, I obviously wasn't here to start the year, only got back into collecting a couple of months ago, but I'll have to come up with some goals for 2010.

Only problem is I deal exclusively on SCF...no ebay account for me...but yeah, it's definitely not impossible...I've had a few ~50 card lot additions from trades on here, so definitely could happen...but, even if it doesn't, I still count this as completed, as I am oh-so-close to reaching it :-)
I think we'll have to have a new 2010 goal thread too...watch for it after Christmas, unless someone creates it before then!

If you've gotten all you have through just trading and no eBay that makes it even more impressive, imo. I don't think I could live without eBay, and my collection wouldn't be anywhere near where it is without it.
Twenty days to get 80 KG's. I would think that is definately doable. Good luck.

Glad I could help with that big chunk I traded ya a while back! How do you not use eBay??? Don't you ever get the urge to get a card that nobody has to offer you? Like me, I had to get a 2004 Denard Span Bowman auto because nobody had it FT and I just had an itch to get it. BTW not using eBay at all is very impressive, congrats Nate! I did not know that.

Well thank you...I have added a few KGs from places other than SCF (pack pulls, 1 GU off of ebay, and a few that I had prior to joining SCF), but the vast majority (~900, give or take) has come exclusively from SCF...if I did use ebay, then I am sure I'd have a far nicer collection than I currently do, but I'd have to have money to work with on a regular basis to use ebay...lol
Thanks for the good luck wishes too! Got another deal done last night for one more KG...now I have 6 incoming, I believe...only 74 more to go! ;-)
Not as glad as I am! :-D Don't have the funds all the time...plus, it would be far too easy to just bid on all sorts of auctions...yes, I get that urge alot, but I refrain from it all by not looking on ebay...much...lol

Heh, smart guy. Being bored at work and having access to eBay is an extremely dangerous combination.

Yeah, it's just too easy to enter a bid...there should be some popup that says "Do you really have the funds to cover this?" for all us card collectors...lol
