Expired Redemption Help?
Recently I purchased a few packs of 04-05 SPA. I pulled a Rookie Redemption card (RR20) of Henrik Lundqvist. The redemption card "expired" last May 1st. Just a little bit ago I called customer service and was told that since the redemption card is expired, they can't do much for me. But I could mail the card in and they might give me something. Is there any other route I could take? The card is fairly valuable, and I would like some decent compensation for it. Does anybody have any advice for me? Thank you for your time and help.

With a card this old and the expiration being in May...your only options really are if you have some sort of attachment to the redemption card, keep the redemption card. Your other option is just to send it in, which I would do at this point, you probably won't get anything like a Hundqvist, but UD might surprise you and give you something decent.
Basically it comes down to if you want a useless redemption card, or if you want to get something out of this card.
I would just send it in.

My guess is that you're out of luck. Buying older product with redemptions is bad for this. I'd consider you lucky of UD sends you anything at all.

You can't be upset, you take that risk when you buy older product with redemptions in it.

Something is better than nothing.
If the will send you something they are way ahead of what they have to do.

The above suggestions are good... but I have a feeling that you'll probably end up with nothing. When redemptions expire, they get used to fulfill requests for people who are waiting on their active redemption.
Maybe this is a hobby lesson. Try not to buy from a company that uses redemptions, like Upper deck. Be sure to check out ITG:

No redemptions, all on card autos and some great items to pull.
cheers,

sorry, you don't get compensation for an expired redemption card as it isn't worth anything. sucks but it is part of the risk you take when buying older product. as someone else mentioned, UD uses leftover redemptions to replace other redemption cards that couldn't be made.
my advice, do what customer service said and send the card in. you might get something out of it. worst case scenario, you're no better off than you are now.

I hate these responses but they are right you wont get much if anything back. It is incredibly dumb that you buy a box get your hit and then dont get it because it expires. Do any other cards in there expire after a couple years? Why cant the base expire and i can keep my hit?
