Bulls giving Del Negro until mid-January

The Bulls are in a free fall, but they aren't ready to push the panic button and fire coach Vinny Del Negro just yet.

Ken Berger of CBS Sports wrote on Tuesday that "GM Gar Forman and advisor John Paxson were telling confidants that they preferred to give Del Negro until mid-January to prove this season was going somewhere."

They are giving him the time most likely because there are no suitable replacements currently...

There are replacements available, but the Bulls would rather not dump money on a new coach when they are in position to land a big free agent this summer

I can't see them improving significantly over the next month. I think he's gone already, and he probably knows it.

I think that's really bad logic. Even if they save enough money to land a big free agent, many won't want to come play for a loser team with a crappy coach, at least the championship material free agent anyway.

I would fire Del Negro on the spot now.

Trust me, I wouldn't even had let Vinny on the plane to NY if it were up to me...I'm just thinking the way Jerry Reinsdorf's pockets would
