Team Fans: Who should be captain of your team?

After Ovie being named captain, and people throwing out their opinions about Washington, it got me thinking, why not start a thread about it, let people from all teams weigh in

I'll start with the Sabres.

Currently Craig Rivet is the captain, and the
"A's" rotate between Pominville, Gaustad, Roy, Hecht and I believe that's it..

Personally here's what I'd like to see

C - Craig Rivet
A - Paul Gaustad
A - Mike Grier

Gaustad has to be the most underrated player and leader on the Sabres. He's always playing with 110% effort and intensity, and he's one of the best on faceoffs, and one of the better all around players in the NHL.

Mike Grier I make a case for because he's such a SMART player. He's not speedy, he's got a superior playmaker, he's not a 30 goal scorer, he's SMART. He's one of the top 5 penalty killers in the NHL hands down, and he really deserves to be wearing the "A" over Roy, Pomers, or Hecht.

Sabres fans feel free to agree with, or debate my opinions

I think the Kings have it set up good now with Brownie. I can see Kopitar or Doughty being the next captain should Dustin Brown leave. (which I don't envision)

As far as the local team where I live, The Avalanche, I think Stastny should be the captain but I think they just wanted that Quebec link and "tradition" with Foote, the last remaining player from the Av's/Nords.

I am sure a guy like Duchene or O'Reilly will be next after Stats if it happens that way.

Honestly it should currently be Chris Drury because Lacroix should have never dealt him, worst trade he ever made for the Av's.

Hejduk actually MIGHT be the next captain but he is almost 34 or 35 so he is getting up there.

Staal: Assistant Captain

What I hope:

Whitney: Assistant Captain
Sutter: Assistant Captain (then he will eventually become captain if he becomes a star player)

Yeah I suppose so. He led the team in +/= last year and is a shut down defenseman (pretty much our number one defensive defenseman). Not a big name guy though.
