Tribute Babe Ruth auto pulled! & J Robinson + what I got

I don't know if this has been posted or not but there is a saying Texas that sometimes you come up "a day late and a dollar short."

Well today I was a day late. I went to one of our locals, Nick's Sport Cards in Dallas to try my luck on Topps Tribute. I walk in the store and ask Nick if anything good had been pulled.

He starts grinning as any store owner would and says "Ron you should have been here yesterday when the product arrived."

One of his best customers pulled a 1/1 Jackie Robinson cut auto. The guy was there busting more product today and he pulled a Babe Ruth bat card.

But even a 1/1 Robinson was not "the card"

Also yesterday another customer pulled, the ultimate WHITE WHALE of any collectors chase: IMO

1/1 Cut AUTO OF BABE RUTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!




I think why waste the money but bought a pack and got the card below as all good cards must have already been pulled.

Then as I am busting some other wax, hockey and football, the guy who pulled the Ruth auto walks in with the card.

What an AMAZING CARD!!! A clean crisp Ruth signature. A true beauty. I asked what he was going to do with the card and he said this is a keeper as he could not even go to sleep last night thinking about his card.

by the way, the guys Ruth cut was a much better signature than the one I own. His was in ink and mine is in pencil.

The guy who pulled the Ruth bought three boxes of the product. He also pulled an Albert Pujols auto and a Lou Gehrig bat card.

Not sure if he bought a lottery ticket or not but he should.

Those were some great late Christmas presents. I couldn't imagine pulling a Ruth auto, Pujols auto, and Gehrig GU all within a few days.

Same guy pulled a fell size Emmitt Smith auto Gators helmet "grand Prize" out of the Tri Star mini helmets.

Talk about luck of the draw twice.

I was in there Saturday and let me hold it was a very nice looking card.
