TTM to Spring Training
This will be my first time sending out to Spring Training TTM since I just joined the hobby a few months ago.
Are there any 'slam-dunk' signers during spring training? Who seems to be the most likely to reply given past experiences?
Is Feb. 13th a fair time to send them out, or should I just send out pitchers and catchers then?
Thanks for any help!

Jeff Francis
Ive been looking for someone that is a Rockies fan for awhile on here. I have 2 jeff Francis gu cards. WIll have to check what year, but know that they are UD cards. They are nice and I think one has pinstripes in the swatch. Im sure that I could throw in some nice Rockies cards for you as well.
All I would ask in return, is some Phillies and / or Eagles cards. Maybe even a gu card if you have something Phillies???
LMK if you would be interested. These cards are just sitting around and would love to get them to someone that would appreciate them!!!

Spring training is great. I was like you last year and I got over 25 autos in 35 letters, just about everybody signs, you might get a surprise or two, but I wouldn't send to big names such as: Pedroia, Rodriguez, Ramirez, Crawford, etc. Good Luck!!!!

Yeah, I'm staying away from the bigger names. So far I have about 14 Mets ready to go...alright, so I am sending one David Wright & Jason Bay's way, those are the biggest names. Half of them are pitchers and the team's catchers...
You think that a higher percentage of pitchers and catchers will send back if you get them an item right when Spring Training starts? That's what I am doing hoping that it is a 'quieter' time for them without the rest of the team around.

David Wright started using a ghost signer a few years back. I know that Bay had signed for me a few years ago when he was a Pirate, but I have not tried him since. Best of luck on your Mets. Dan Murphy and Santos were good signers last season.

I got snubbed by many of the Phillies that I sent to. they seem to be getting worse and worse every year! I did not have a good ST last year. BUT... if you dont send, how will you know if you get a response???
Try a card, or something cheap. That way you arent as upset if it never returns. Im also trying a few other ideas this year. One is using bright colored envelopes. Maybe that makes mine stick out more than the other guys sending?

I don't collect cards and wouldn't risk balls, so its no big deal if I lose out on any of the customs I send out. Glad to hear Dan Murphy and Omir Santos were decent...have them ready to go too. Thanks
Any suggestions for players from other teams? Mariano Rivera is tops on my list this year...
I've tried a couple of Phillies, but I've been seeing more and more of the pre-printed postcards outside of Moyer and Blanton (though I got nothing back from Blanton.Last edited by JVazz29; 01-13-2010 at 10:43 PM. Reason: oops.
