    Dunk-In to determine 4th spot in Slam Dunk contest

    NEW YORK (AP)—The final contestant in the slam dunk competition will have to earn his way in.

    The NBA announced Wednesday the creation of the “All-Star Slam Dunk-In” to determine the fourth contestant in the event.


    Two players will compete at halftime of the rookie challenge on Friday, Feb. 12. The winner, chosen by votes on NBA.com or through text messaging, will claim a spot in the marquee event of All-Star Saturday night, to be held this year in Dallas.

    Who knows....I guess they have three guys that people will be excited about, and figure they'd just announce the two 'lesser-named' guys first? I can't imagine the two in the dunk-in will be guys we've all heard of, lol.

    It looks like Dwight Howard agrees that Cannon Brown should be in the Dunk contest:

    NBA FanHouse: With Howard saying he’s bowing out, he mentioned three dunkers he would like to see battle for the title. “Shannon Brown, Derrick Rose, DeMar DeRozan (a rookie who shares an agent with Howard in Aaron Goodwin) might be in it,” he said. “Those are the only three I can think of.”
