beckett ????
i wonder sometimes if the fine people at becketts really know or care about the proposed book values they publish
case in point that irks me
i have a 09/10 itg 1972 valeri kharlamov game used jersey silver ( limited to 30 copies ) that is priced the same as a masterpiece canvas clipping scotty bowman "jersey" card.probably a thousand of the scottys available.
how can this be?? does beckett have a deal in place with UD to control the marketplace and undervalues ITG products intentionally.i have noticed some itg products are (IMO) way undervalued. anybody else notice/think along these lines.

ITG does seem way under valued IMO.

Which is why people have to stop using it as a rule. It has become somewhat outdated. I am not saying ebay sales are right but when trading both sides have to come to a deal both sides like

I have a Kharlamov jersey from that set and wondered the same thing when I checked the Big B.
While there are a good number of Tretiak Jersey cards out there, how many Yakushevs, Mikhailovs, or myshkins have you seen? These are scarcer and should be worth a bit more.

Precisely why I would not even think of using Beckett to guide me in placing a value on an ITG card I am selling and they definitely undervalue ITG.

Perhaps you should open some UD product (just kidding). Well whenthee only a few copies you can set your own price. I just like looking at the list they publish for short prints. Of course sometimes they are high whil others low.

Not trying to toot my own horn here, but here's a link to an article I wrote for the SCF Articles page on the very subject of taking more than book value into consideration when making trades:
https://www.sportscardforum.com/artic...price-guide-2/
Ironically enough, it was picked by the good people running SCF to be published...in a price guide...Tuff Stuff's Sports Collector Monthly in December 2009.

Agreed...if going by BV only I have lost a bunch on trades, I'd rather both sides come to an agreement that makes them happy and if you can't then part ways with a polite no thanks!
