This reminds me alot of that Playoff product from 95-96 and 96-97. Main difference is that Playoff at least made the cards a traditional card size so it wasn't much of a stretch for collectors to pick them up as a part of their collection. These things are an entirely different story...not a normal card size, can't fit them into sleeves or hard cases, no individual numbering on the cards that a traditional set would include.
I got a couple of packs of this stuff for free at the Topps booth at the Toronto Fall Expo. The foil ones look pretty cool, but overall it's not a product I'll be buying. At least it looks like Topps is serious about getting back into hockey once the UD exclusive is over with...and with the lawsuit UD is in right now, who knows if they'll even be around anymore anyways, so someone will need to step into the market.

I won't even bother with them, even if I have a player I collect. So sad to see Topps do this...............

I am so disinterested in this set that I thought about watching the video to maybe be educated and see what it is all about...but just wasn't interested enough to press the play button.

All I can think of is the episode of the Simpsons, when Bart sold his soul to Milhouse..... and we get this classic line:
Milhouse: I traded your soul for Alf pogs. Remember Alf? He's back. In pog form.
