1994-95 Sp Authentic Question
Yes...you read that right...
Where would I find a sell sheet (if there even is one) for 1994-95 SP Authentic? I have found a few boxes for sale and was wondering if there was anything of value (autos, sweet rookies, etc...) in them.
Thanks for the help!

Just to make sure we're talking about the set, you do mean '1994-95 SP', right? I don't think there was any 'SP Authentic' back then.
I'm not sure if you'll find a sell sheet anywhere..... but I can give you a little info about the set:
No Autos for sure.
'Sweet Rookies' is a relative term, I guess. Depends on who / what you like.
The set contains the only true 'RCs' of Jarome Iginla and Sergie Samsonov. Marc Savard maybe too (has a RC of him for sure... I don't remember if he has others elsewhere). Names like Ryan Smyth, Ed Jovanovski, Wayde Redden aswell. (These are all cards picturing them from the World Junior Championships).
RCs picturing the players in NHL uniforms are limited to Blaine Lacher, Mariusz Czerkawski, Radical Bonk, Alex Selavaniov, and Jim Carey.
As for 'value' I don't know. The Iginla is worth a couple of bucks, for sure.... but the rest don't have a whole lot of sale or trade value (I wouldn't think).
It's a real sharp looking set though. If you can get the boxes cheap and wanted to put together a set, I'd think it's a fun one to do.

Thank you for the insight! Guy is asking almost $40-US per box. I was going to offer $20 if it had autos. Will hold off, though. Thank you!

One of my favorite sets from the 90's! Those World Junior cards were awesome and produced some great RC's. Also note that this set is VERY condition sensitive.

I should have added... there are also die-cut versions of all the cards.... and I *THINK* (someone please correct me if I'm wrong) that this was the set that had a couple of hard to find Gretzky and Samsonov insert cards. They would fit together like a puzzle if you had both.
I have serious doubts you'd get cards you could sell for $20 out of the box.... but like I said.. it's a very nice looking set. If mid-90s stuff is something you're interested in, $20-$40 a box doesn't sound horrible for it. Nice cards, just not worth a whole lot.

Thank you for your help. For clarification....you mean that the value of the cards are heavily based on what kind of condition the card is in, correct?
Thanks again!

Josh, I purchased a box of this up in Michigan for $12...and you're almost guaranteed an Iginla RC. I also pulled a Langenbrunner as well as a Samsonov RC. The aforementioned gentlemen are correct in that it was a staple set in the 90's as it continued with the foil fad of the early-to-mid 90's, but aside from pulling a die-cut of Gretzky or Lemieux, the set did not hold up for value, as most everything produced in this era was overly abundant. And even if you were to want a die-cut Gretzky or Lemieux, provided you find one...one can be had on the budget of a weekend job.

Thanks Sam. I think I'll stick with current SPA and sets that include autos. Thanks again! :)

actually this set is condition sensitive. if you get an iginla die cut or regular rc and get a pristine gem mint 10, you will become rich. its worth a shot.
