I can't disagree. If I'm ok w/ unions doing it then I can't be against the corporations doing the same.

Im somewhat conflicted on this as i do not know what really happens in the back rooms at political establishments. On one hand i feel a corporation should be able to donate as much to anyone who they seem fit but on the other hand it is an obvious conflict of interest if you have someone say in the health insurance industry donating large sums of money to a candidate.

I'm very impressed and I commend you for that thought.

I'm not sure how I feel about this. On one hand, it is a basic right of any citizen, as an individual or part of an organization, to be able to speak freely, especially about politics. But obviously this opens up the door to some strong(er) influences in Washington. But either way, unions/charities/etc and corporations should follow the same rules.

In actuality, it's more of a leveling of the playing field than anything.

Here are the judges:

Thursday's decision was supported by five justices who were Republican nominees: Kennedy, Roberts and Thomas along with Justices Antonin Scalia and Samuel A. Alito Jr.

The dissenters included the three Democratic appointees: Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Stephen G. Breyer and Sonia Sotomayor.

I'm surprised that Kennedy voted this way. He seems to be the most moderate of the group.

gator - Thanks for that. Anything that makes Olbermann babble so idiotically must be a good thing. If it wasn't so sickening, it would be hilarious. Campaign finance reform is worse than slavery? I guess I should expect nothing less....I don't recall him having a problem when it was just unions buying their candidate of choice legislature seats.

Fair enough...in that case, I can't disagree with you. Apparently you didn't read my earlier post about my stance on it.

Let me ask you this: Is this campaign finance decision worse than trying to make slavery permanent?
