    Question about 2007-08 The Cup

    Hi All!

I've been wondering about this lately - as I'm not totally positive which I have.

How does one differentiate between (using EJ and Perron for my examples):

    2007-08 The Cup Gold #123 Erik Johnson S# 25 N/A
    2007-08 The Cup Rookies Platinum #123 Erik Johnson S# 25 $30.00

And while I'm at it...how about:
2007-08 SP Authentic Limited #243 David Perron AU PATCH Mem, AU, S# 100 $100.00
2007-08 SP Authentic Limited Patches #243 David Perron JSY AU Mem, AU, S# 100 N/A

The Cup one is really a head-scratcher for me, the SPA I'm assuming could be a screw-up by Beckett?

    Anyone care to enilighten me?

    Thanks!

not too sure on the spa, but with the gold and platinum the easiest way i would guess is the gold has a distinct gold border/background, where as the platinum has the silver background/border. so if tis got a gold border its gold if its the platinum its got the platinum border

the way that SPA is listed in Beckett, seems to be the same card listed two different ways

They did that with all of the players in 07-08 SP Authentic.

On The Cup front, the Gold rookie parallel is usually #'d to the player's jersey number to go along with a Platinum non-auto/non-patch /25 but they got clever that year and called what is usually the Platinum parallel /25 a Gold non-auto/non-patch to go along with the Gold Rainbow auto/patch #'d to jersey.

So let me see if I understand this...

SPA - as I assumed, a typo of sorts - same card.

Cup - (EJ) ARP /249, ARP Gold /6, Gold RC /25 - NO Platinum RC /25.

    Platinum was discontinued.

    Does that sound about right?

    Thanks for the help!

    Correct on both counts.
