jeresy question
just looking at my jersey/patch cards. this may sound like a stupid question but say the player on the card is in his home jersey, does that mean the jersey swatch is from his home jersey. same thing with the away jerseys and alternative jerseys.

No. Very rarely (if ever) does UD "photomatch" the jersey to the player. You need only look at players that are pictured as a member of one team with the jersey swatches of another.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

same thing with a hossa one i have. the patch(2 color) is from Atlanta, the jersey he is pictured in is a Wings, but is he on the wings nope he is a blackhawk. so much for UD getting us as close as we can get. why in hell do they have 3 season old jerseys anyways dont they get new ones after every season?

Questions come up alot with 'where did this come from" with RC's they often will use a throwback jersey and a regular season one. UD have been known to use old swatches from previous team the player was on.

I'd say the answer is kind of simple. GU jersey are much cheaper when the player doesn't play for that team anymore. Most jerseys here in Columbus are cut over 50% off when the player is traded or leaves in the offseason. UD probably just takes advantage of it.
