Which Spurs player?
Considering on starting a pc of a current Spurs player, mainly because they are the closest team to where i live, and i go to a few games a year. Was considering George Hill, or even Dejuan Blair

Either of those guys would be a great pick, even Parker or Duncan. Anyone on that team, such a professional team...

I think you can even collect Ginobli or Parker. They are not very expensive to collect.

Who is your favourite Spurs player? That is who you should collect, in my opinion. Most cards go down, not up, after a player's rookie season. People focus too much on investment potential that they think someone might have and may make money on a card or two but generally are unsuccessful(don't make any money or lose money), especially in this economy.
Zeppelin - that is true about the Spurs. I used to like the Suns a little (S. Nash is from Canada too) and hate how the Suns beat them in the playoffs mainly because they were better coached and ran more set plays. The defense and dirty play of Bowen and Horry's hipcheck on Nash helped a little too(anyone have a pic of his broken nose - looks like a Cdn. hockey player).
I used to like the Spurs a little when they had David Robinson(one of the best players and people of his era). Personally I like Ginobilli. He has been called the anti-Spur because of his flair. He is an explosive player and often overlooked or underrated(overused term but that is how I see it). Duncan is great fundamentally but not a very exciting player and his cards are a little expensive, especially his auto's. Parker is an excellent, slightly underrated or under-recognized player but I do not like what I have read about his snotty French attitude with the fans. As whalechaser said his cards (and Ginobilli's) are not very expensive relative to his status. Playing in a small market, being a foreigner (foreign player) and his relative lack of a large fan base are probably why.
Of the two I would go with George Hill. I like the way he plays and I think he has a little more upside. I just saw a clip yesterday on NBA.com of him stealing the ball from Kobe and going for a dunk. Apparently he is Poppovich's favourite player. The Spurs made a wise move to pick Blair up in the second round. People did not expect him to last that long in the draft. Blair basically does not have any anterior cruciate ligaments remaining (mostly scar tissue now) because of injury and surgery (strange as that might sound). He is also a little undersized though his long wingspan and big body help compensate.Last edited by wrafman; 02-04-2010 at 11:45 PM.

I like most of the Spurs players, but Hill is the one I like watching play. So I decided to go with Hill

Get all players including David Robinson. A fix of spurs players looks better!

Add one more thing, most spurs players play for spurs in their entire career. I think you can get from RC to today stuff, still wearing black/grey/white jersey. Not a lot of role players and star players play for 1 team only.

Go with George Hill (assuming he doesn't get traded this year). Kid has loads of talent and in my opinion is the steal of the 2008 draft. I think he could become a better PG than Parker. He's in his second year and his perimeter jumper and defense is at a higher level than what Parker's was in his second year.
You also couldn't go wrong with the steal of the 2009 draft...DeJuan Blair. Less than 100 cards made right now.
