Panini, Upper deck's exquisite was so good because they were clearing out inventory, UD still couldn't care less about the consumer, unlike Panini who's CS is gold

I thought 09-10 was crap. They sloppily threw the product together, inserting cards from completely different years for example.

Panini, for their CS alone, is better already. However, I think they needed to release a product like Absolute or National Treasures for basketball this year, which they aren't as far as I know. Those products would have made a big splash.

Haven't bought any of either this year but from what I have seen I would say it is a tie.

I am not a big UD fan but UD did a good job with their regular UD. They inserted many hot boxes that had a ton of auto's and GU and even their regular boxes has three or four auto's. They released their biggest ever auto set with 200 cards in it, including many legends and all the big names.

I like the UD Draft Edition product with legends from other sports included and auto's of superstars (Olajuwon, Jordan) in their college uniforms.

With 09-10 Exquisite (UD Draft Edition too) they were at a disadvantage because Panini signed several of the big rookies (T. Hansborough, B. Griffin, a few others) to exclusive contracts.

I like some of Panini's cards - the sandwiches are better though

The one and only reason they did this is because they had a warehouse full of autos and jerseys that they weren't going to be able to use, since they lost their license to produce cards on October 1, 2009. Had Panini not come into play, there is NO way they would've released such a large number of hits.

To answer the original question, Panini by a landslide. While some may not like their products yet, their customer service is many, many times better than UD's...and it could be the "honeymoon period" that we are seeing, but even if that is the case, I think having a new card manufacturer is going to improve the hobby, and therefore would still give my vote to Panini.

As a person who only buys singles, I'll still take UD over Panini anyday. Since I never really dealt with a CS person from either company, I could really care less about that. For me, I just look at the overall quality of the product, and so far I think Panini has done a terrible job. There has yet to be a Kobe card out there where i just had to have.

UD has proved one thing over the last month, they could care less for the customer and will do ANYTHING to make a profit. McWilliams should be in jail, not running UD.

Hopefully Panini continues to improve their products and continues to gain marketshare

Panini needs alot of work on the card designs but hopefully they can turn it up a notch.

    Panini>>>>>UD by a long shot

The only reason UD stuffed their boxes with tons of autos/GUs, is because they needed to clear out their inventory. No way in hell UD would do that if Panini didn't come around.

UD Draft is a joke, for every olajuwon auto, there's 1,000,000 Michael Bramos or bj mullens autos.

CS is very important, and one of the true signs of a company's rep. UD is flat out horrible, while Panini is flat out the best at CS. Saying you don't care about CS is like saying you don't care if you get pushed around and scammed.
