Malone, Pippen headline 2010 HOF finalists
The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame today named an elite list of players, coaches and teams as finalists who will be considered for election to the Hall in 2010.
This year’s list includes two-time NBA MVP and 14-time NBA All-Star Karl Malone of the Utah Jazz and Scottie Pippen, a six-time NBA champion as a member of the Chicago Bulls, both first time nominees. They will be considered along with previous finalists, such as legendary high school coach Bob Hurley of St. Anthony’s in Jersey City, N.J. and Cynthia Cooper, who helped the Houston Comets win four WNBA titles.

Malone and Pippen definitely deserve to get in. Heck, so does Cynthia Cooper.

Agree.............Pippen and Malone are Top 50 All Time.
Cooper is a Top 10 All Time without a doubt.

The '92 Dream Team will probably be a unanimous vote. I'm more excited about that than Pippen and Malone getting in.

Pippen and Malone are locks, both guys deserve it. I agree on Cooper aswell, she was the first GREAT player of the WNBA, and was the face of those Houston teams

Yay Congrats to Pippen, he has always been and will be one of my favorite players ever!
Tex Winters should get in too come on, he had a big part in all the Bulls Championship as well as the Lakers championships in the past two decades.

Just read on NBA.com (same topic, different article) how Mark Jackson and Dennis Rodman were denied candidacy (not entry). Mark Jackson is understandable but Rodman was a 6-time rebound leader and 2 time defensive player of the year, if I recall correctly.
They basically say that the NBA is likely punishing him for is on and off-court antics.Last edited by wrafman; 02-13-2010 at 12:22 PM.

While Rodman was not a role model, and definitely didn't make great choices, neither did Wilt Chamberlain, yet he's in the HOF, as far as I know...if he's in, Rodman should definitely be in.

Good point. Chamberlain was probably a walking STD. Besides his 100 point game he was also famous for bragging that he slept with thousands of women (I'm sure he slept with a ton but not quite that many - obviously overexaggerating). Magic admitted that he did the same thing (just did not brag about it) even though he was married. That is almost assuredly how he got AIDS (can't picture him doing drugs via needle).

Yeah...Wilt was an amazing player, but what he was bragging about is just wrong...if what he said is true, then that is just disgusting.
But, Magic didn't have AIDS...he was diagnosed with HIV.
Anyway, Rodman was a defensive monster, and surely should be in the HOF, IMO.
