IMO that was a loss for Canada and a win for Switzerland. To have to go to a shootout against the swiss is a fail IMO. What do you canadian fans think? Because I know if i was a canadian fan i would not be happy at all at that performance... but what do you think?

Did you watch the game? Jonas Hiller stood on his head in the third period. Obviously not happy about losing a point in the standings but definately not emberassed about the way they played.

I agree it was a huge win for the Swiss. But frankly I think this is the best thing that could happen to Team Canada at this point. An easy victory and there is no test for the team yet in the games. Something like this is an eye opener. Better to have a close call and lose sure point early in the rounds than cough up a bigger game because you think talent on paper alone will be enough. I think with the US game looming the timing could not have been better for an early gut check. Alot of credit to Hiller tonight. It could have been uglier.

Hiller was amazing but when you're canada and you have 4 1st lines, you should be able to score more than 2 on a not that strong team

The U.S beat them 3-1 and we beat em 3-2 (mind you we needed a shoot out) I really dont think the swiss can be considered one of the bottom feeders of the Olympics anymore. They come STrong.

I disagree though Canada could have had 4-5 goals in the third alone. Not to mention when I saw Doughty make that beautiful move to get alone in front of the net and then he PASSED?!?!?!?! lol I almost through by beer at the television. lol

Whatever hopefully that is a wakeup call for us. Cant wait for Sundays game!

But most of the swiss players have no experience in shootouts... and almost all of them have never faced Brodeur. So the Canadians have a advantage in the shootout in that sense. There might have been a different result if there was more OT ?
