Surprised that Montreal didn't do anything superlative today. There's no way that Gauthier honestly believes that this crew can win in the playoffs. That said, there's so many cap issues that making a deal is tough to do.
On the upside, my fears about Carey appear to not have come to fruition!
Andy, do you know if Palushaj and Pacioretty played together at Michigan?
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

yeah thats a terrible deal for Washington.
I really like LA's lines. For those unaware, Justin Williams broke his leg around Christmas and he was expected to be back for the playoffs. Now, he's looking to be back very soon.
Essentially, our lines will be:
Smyth-Kopi-Williams
Froloaf-Stoll-Brown
Richardson-Handzus-Simmonds
Clune/Modin-Halpern-Moller

I'd do that deal if I were Washington. They want the Cup and they clearly want it NOW. I think with the other moves they made and this one, that's what they're doing.

Palushaj played one season with Michigan and it was last year. Was Pac on the team then? And Rich, let me emphasize how lopsided that deal was. Palushaj should be a top 2 line winger very soon. He is a GREAT player.

all jokes about Modin aside, that is a pretty good lineup, 1 to 12.
that said, Sabre lines
Roy-Vanek-Stafford
Connolly-Pommer-Hecht
Kaleta/Grier-Gaustad-Torres
Kaleta/Grier-Kennedy-Mair
ex: Ellis
I wish the Sabres would have gotten a center to help with faceoffs

No Pacioretty was already with the Bulldogs/Habs last year. Just looking at their draft positions alone (2nd v. 7th round) I'm thinking the Habs are coming out ahead. I still can't believe that people thought D'Agostini would be a guy that makes Michael Ryder expendable. Ah well, that mistake is erased so hopefully this Palushaj kid develops into a good top-6 forward.

Our lines are going to be great. The problem is we need Clune in over Modin. Clune will fight and bang and go hard in corners. We need that if Ivanans won't be playing
