Think Al Montoya will ever be a starter in the NHL?
I see he is now 3rd on the depth chart. Doesn't seem like he will ever get a chance? Such a shame.

honestly, he might have to go to Sweden or Russia for a season, be really good and then look to see where there is an opening for a possible job.

I notice his cards are becoming less and less expensive.

As a guy who has been a fan since his WJC days and his time at Michigan, no way. He was a great college goalie but it didn't equate in the NHL level. Maybe if he works his butt off he could become a backup somewhere and then move up with solid play but I doubt he ever is a starter in the NHL barring injuries of course.

I don't really see it. He hasn't even been the starter for the last three seasons on his AHL team, and his numbers haven't been good when he does play. That's a long way to come back from to make it to NHL-starter level.

Not sure if you watched him play last year in the NHL but he looked good. He played two games vs the kings and I watched both. 1st time he won (THINK he had a shutout but not sure) and 2nd time the team got destroyed but it was due to a lack of defense in Phoenix. He certainly has the skill set so I don't know why he isn't doing well. It may be to a lack of effort but who knows
