    BCCG or PSA?

So Im considering buying a Gretzky RC but since there are so many fakes I want to buy one thats graded/authenticated. Im not sure though which grading companies are most reputable/desireable. Im looking at a few that are PSA and some that are BCCG. Any thoughts?

It really depends on your preferences. I'd say away from BCCG and KSA. Though both have cleaned up their act lately, BCCG and KSA did little in the way of authenticating (KSA especially in its old ownership,) and a lot of fakes have shown up between those two pieces of plastic. I'd trust the stuff graded by KSA recently, but unless you have someone to help you distinguish the difference between the old and new slabs, this info's useless :)

PSA lends itself to being a favorite for vintage cards for a lot of collectors, simply because they grade pack pulled cards for the most part. BGS/BVG will grade laser cuts...so if it matters to you that you don't have a card that was cut from an uncut sheet and then graded, go PSA. Price-wise, I've noticed Gretzky rookies over time tend to do a little better on the PSA side, so expect to pay a bit more for them...probably not a ton more, but a bit.

I'm a bigger fan of the BGS slab than I am the PSA style, but if I had to pick up a Gretzky rookie for someone tomorrow, I'd be looking at PSA rookies before I looked at BGS ones.

I woulf go with BGS or PSA. KSA I would not mind if your planning on keeping it for yourself and not looking to flip it in the future. If your going to flip it go the or psa route like mentioned above.

if your planning on buying a Gretzky RC, definetly go BGS/BVG or PSA. BCCG aren't that reliable, and KSA is in between, but if your going for it, at least go PSA in my opinion

If your choices are BCCG and PSA, I agree with previous advice and go with PSA for sure.
